The Mt Rushmores Of Food

This morning on ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike, there were a few discussions about Mount Rushmores. Not the actual American landmark, but rather variations of it.

For instance, for the Mt Rushmore of Basketball, the radio hosts anointed Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlin, Bill Russell, and Oscar Robertson. They both agreed, and it was a pretty easy-going discussion.

However,  when the discussion shifted to the Mt Rushmore of Sports Movies Characters, several names came about. Having four members of a Mt Rushmore is not the only guarantee in this fun, yet though provoking exercise. Every time, no matter what the topic, you will have arguments, disagreements and banter.

Case in point the last category we mentioned. Everyone can agree on  Sly Stallone’s Rocky being the most iconic sports movie character of all time, but after that, things get hairy. Do you go with Bill Murray’s Carl Spackler from Caddyshack, Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore, Denzel Washington’s Coach Boone from Remember the Titans, Emilio Esteves as Gordan Bombay in The Mighty Ducks, Jamie Foxx as Willie Beaman in Any Given Sunday, Mickey Rourke as “The Ram” in The Wresteler, or some other iconic characters? A crazy discussion for sure!

The same can happen in food. And here at FoodSided it will. Periodically, I will be posting my Mt Rushmores of Food. The top four iconic members of some of these food categories.
