As pumpkin spice everything starts to take over store shelves, could pumpkin spice Frosted Flakes be the next brand to embrace the fall flavor?

Could the next grrreat cereal flavor be pumpkin spice Frosted Flakes? While Tony the Tiger has had a few takes on the classic cereal, this newest flavor will be coming this fall. But, will it be a hit with kids or parents?

In a recent press release announcing the Duff Goldman and Kellogg’s NYC Café partnership, there was a mention of pumpkin spice Frosted Flakes. A quick search shows that the limited edition flavor will be hitting store shelves anytime now. But, will you want to try a bowl?

This new flavor option could be a fun choice to use in other recipes. Classic Frosted Flakes will always be a favorite. The chocolate and cinnamon varieties didn’t seem to find a huge audience. With the popularity of pumpkin everything, people might just want to try this limited edition flavor just because.

  • It seems that many classic cereals get the favorite fall flavor makeover. From Cheerios to Frosted Mini-Wheats, many favorite foods take on the pumpkin flavors of fall. Starting in September, the entire grocery store seems to have a pumpkin flavor takeover.

At first, the warm, spicy pumpkin flavors were enticing. Now, the flavor profile seems over saturated. Could the flavor trend finally have reached the end of its run? Maybe another flavor profile could become the new fall favorite.

Maple, pecan and even cinnamon could replace of the pumpkin spices that seem to be everywhere throughout the fall. Those flavors can meld into a variety of foods better than pumpkin. Unfortunately, those flavors don’t seem to have same popularity.

Additionally, no other season seems to have such a dominate flavor profile. While peppermint is common during Christmas time, it doesn’t seem to be as eagerly anticipated as the fall and pumpkin. Spring and summer don’t even seem to have a single identifiable flavor. Maybe the fall and its cold weather makes people crave a warm, comforting spice.

Will you go searching for pumpkin spice Frosted Flakes? Are you part of the pumpkin spice fan club?
