All that screaming can work up quite an appetite at Halloween Horror Nights 29. The Stranger Things Starcourt Mall food court is a feast for foodies.

Halloween Horror Nights 29 opened to rave reviews this past weekend. While the haunted houses, scare zones and performances totally terrified guests, the Starcourt Mall food court gave guests a reprieve from all those frights. What should you eat first?

This year’s Halloween Horror Nights experience has a retro 80s, game-influenced vibe. With the continuing partnership with Stranger Things, some of the food choices this year are inspired by the Starcourt Mall in Season 3.

Although Scoops Ahoy might only be found at the Cabana Bay pop-up experience, the food court has several tasty offerings that everyone will want to try. Just like a traditional food court, variety is key and Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights delivers.

In the Starcourt Mall food stands, there are both savory and sweet options. The Hawkins Heroes offers some very hearty classic sandwiches. Given the size and heft of these sandwiches, Hopper would definitely approve.

The Imperial Panda offers a tasty orange chicken bao. As a fan of Aventura’s bao at Bar 17 Bistro, this bao bun tastes the same. Also, the bao is served with pot stickers, which makes this meal quite filling.

Of course, any visit to a food court must include a sweet treat. There are Merrill’s Mini Pumpkin Doughnuts. The nod to the decaying pumpkin patch pumpkins, thanks to cookie crumbs and green icing, is a nice HHN touch.

The big draw is that these doughnuts are served warm. Can anyone resist a hot, fresh doughnut? I recommend pairing these treats with a Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale for the ultimate HHN indulgence.

Lastly, the Triple Decker Extravaganza is back. The gigantic waffle dessert with whipped cream and jelly beans will give you the sugar energy to power through all 10 haunted houses this year.

In addition to the Starcourt Mall food court area, the HHN classic, pizza fries, are back. Also, there are a s’mores fries available this year (a nice nod to our favorite character Stay Puft Marshmallow Man).

Speaking of Ghostbusters, there is Trap Popcorn available. Looking like the Ghost Trap from Ghostbusters, this salty Slimer-green treat is a great walking around snack. Just don’t spill any when those zombies come out to play.

If you get thirsty, HHN has a variety of specialty drinks. From the non-alcoholic Candy Corn frozen drink to the Vampire’s Curse to a wide selection of craft beers, there is definitely a beverage to quench your thirst.

Halloween Horror Nights 29 runs now through November 2 at Universal Studios Orlando on select nights. It is a separately ticketed event.

Halloween Horror Nights 29 might be a totally terrifying experience but the Starcourt Mall food courts will bring your stomach to a happy place. Are you ready to play?
