Alton Brown is joining the new season of Worst Cooks in America. Can the super knowledge Brown create culinary champions out of these kitchen disasters?

A new season of Worst Cooks in America is coming to the Food Network and Alton Brown looks to whip these kitchen nightmares into shape. While each one of the sixteen worst cooks dreams of culinary greatness, only one will go from worst to first. Can Brown teach these worst cooks the foodie knowledge to win?

Each season of Worst Cooks in America tries to bring a new spin to the popular Food Network show. This season brings a new mentor, Brown. With his vast food knowledge, it will be interesting to see how his signature style impacts the show and the competition.

Over the past several seasons, Anne Burrell has transformed these culinary nightmares into decent cooks. She has had a great track record in mentoring these cooks from worst to first.

Although last season’s winner was technically from Bobby Flay’s team, he was originally on Chef Anne’s team. She has proven herself as the chef and team to beat.

While the premise of this Food Network show is the same, bringing Brown to the program could impact the show in several ways. Beyond Brown’s immense food knowledge, he can expand the whys to these worst cooks.

In some ways, understanding the hows and whys of cooking can help any cook become better. Yes, there is an aspect of food science to cooking well. From understanding temperatures to seasoning, there is a method to that science madness.

Additionally, Brown could offer these worst cooks some tough love. While Chef Anne might have her red marker ready, Brown might be quick with his comments. Anyone who remembers him from Iron Chef America knows that his commentary never minced words.

Worst Cooks in America Season 18 premieres on Sunday, January 5 at 9 p.m. on Food Network.

Are you excited to see a new season of this Food Network show? Do you think Chef Anne or Brown will earn this season’s win?
