Ready for a new KFC Chicken Sandwich?

The chicken sandwich wars are back. The new KFC Chicken Sandwich could become the summer’s must have food. While the quick service restaurants are always looking to overtake one another in the popularity polls, this new food offering has a little twist. But, are you willing to travel to get one?

Chicken sandwiches have become one of the biggest food trends. From Southern style to the homemade version, everyone has their preferred choice. While this food has become a source of much debate of which version is supreme, consumers cannot get enough.

KFC has been listening to what its fans have wanted. While the $30 fill-up bucket might be a great value, the chicken sandwich is the convenient menu item that many people crave. The portability makes for popular dish.

Since KFC wants to win the chicken sandwich war, the new premium KFC Chicken Sandwich looks to bring big flavor to the table. It is more than just those 11 herbs and spices on a piece of fried chicken. It is the combination of flavors and textures that make this new chicken sandwich even better.

What’s on the new KFC Chicken Sandwich?

According to KFC, the new sandwich is bigger and better. The 20% larger piece of chicken is combined with “double-breaded, Extra Crispy chicken filet on a new buttery brioche bun, to the crispier, thicker pickles, and the perfect amount of the Colonel’s real mayo, now in classic or spicy.”

Looking at the description, a few things instantly stand out. One key is the pickle. A thicker pickle ensures more pickle per bite. That pickle flavor is key to making a southern style chicken sandwich really stand out. A thick pickle means that the pickle flavor will not get lost.

Second, the buttery, brioche bun makes for a rich flavor. The thicker bun means that every flavor can be absorbed by the bread. From the mayo to the chicken’s spices, that buttery brioche makes all the other flavors sing.

Lastly, the choice of either a classic or spicy mayo allows everyone to have it their way. That option of mayo customization could be a game changer for the chicken sandwich wars.

While this KFC Chicken Sandwich looks to be a big bite, many people will be craving one immediately. Unfortunately, only one area will be privileged to try this delicious sandwich. The launch is happening in Orlando, Florida at 15 select restaurants in the area.

To celebrate the launch, KFC is giving an exclusive first taste to Orlando’s frontline workers. Some of those people included in the launch will be those workers seen in the “Orlando Sentinel’s Pandemic Portraits, (which include) teachers, auto mechanics, police officers and others.”

If you are in the Orlando area and would like to try the new premium KFC Chicken Sandwich, the cost will be $3.99 for the sandwich or $6.99 for the combo meal.

Do you think that the new KFC Chicken Sandwich is reignited the chicken sandwich wars for the summer? When do you think that the new sandwich will be available in your area?
