Tired of the same taco night? This tasty mango salsa recipe is an instant upgrade.

From Taco Tuesday to weekend dinners, taco night is a popular dinner choice for many families. While many people love tacos, they might need a recipe upgrade. This mango salsa recipe will be the next wow factor on the dinner table.

While many people have a favorite salsa (even a prepared version), sometimes the standard choice is just a little tired. It isn’t that the recipe is boring or bland, but sometimes a different option can be the spark to brighten up that weekly dinner ritual.

Since June is mango month, it is the perfect time to add some more mango to various recipes. Salsa is a perfect recipe that can get a boost from some mango.

The National Mango Board shared a delicious mango salsa recipe. A relatively simple recipe, this salsa has just the right balance of sweet, spice and acid.

While this recipe uses jalapeños, you could switch a different pepper. Although using a whole habenero could be too much heat, different peppers could amp up the heat. Additionally, if you do not like the spice, make sure the jalapeño seeds are discarded.

Here’s the National Mango Board’s tasty mango salsa recipe.

Salsa

2 large ripe mangos, peeled, pitted and chopped
1/4 cup minced red bell pepper
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
2 green onions, sliced (green tops only)
1 small jalapeno pepper, stem, seeds and membrane removed

Method:

Stir together mango, bell pepper, lime juice, cilantro, onions and jalapeno in a medium bowl.

Recipe provided by the National Mango Board.

The National Mango Board recommends pairing this salsa with some Baja Fish Tacos. Whether you use a grilled fish or a fried fish, either option could be quite tasty.

Also, this salsa would work well with chicken or shrimp. Just make sure that the seasoning on the protein is balanced. The flavor of the salsa needs to complement the dish, not be overpowered by it

If your taco night needs a flavor upgrade consider adding some mango salsa to the table. It could be the flavor boost that you were craving.
