From the first bite till the final one, Wendy’s chicken has a flavor that is made to crave. Although many people can speculate why one food tastes better than another food, sometimes the secret to a great tasting bite is really simple. For Wendy’s food done right doesn’t have any shortcuts.

Recently, Wendy’s added the jalapeno popper chicken sandwich and salad to its menu. While this menu addition is a big throwdown in the chicken sandwich wars, the bold flavor addition is only part of the reason why everyone is craving this new food offering. Even though the inspired jalapeno popper flavors are unique, the reason why each bite works is because of the chicken.

Did you know that Wendy’s is the originator of the crispy chicken sandwich? While the chicken sandwich seems to have prime billing on every quick service restaurant menu, not all chicken sandwiches are the same. Anyone who has ordered one recently knows that with the first bite.

The simple way Wendy’s chicken sets itself apart.

During a recent conversation about the new Wendy’s Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sandwich and Salad, John Li, Vice President of Culinary Innovation for The Wendy’s Company spoke about Wendy’s chicken and why it tastes so good.

While he would never reveal certain secrets behind that juicy, crispy chicken, the truth is that Wendy’s strives to do food done right. That concept drives everything that they do. From the seasonings to the flavor combinations each and every aspect comes with an attention to detail and care.

Still, one of the keys to that great tasting chicken is the use of a classic French breading technique. That triple step process ensures not only a crispy chicken but also a flavorful, juicy chicken. While this idea might sound simple, not everyone does it. Although the classic technique isn’t a secret, it might as well be for other quick service restaurants.

While all the other additional flavors make menu innovation exciting, they do not work without a great tasting starting product. Wendy’s understands that affordable food done right is paramount. Maybe that concept is the secret that other restaurants need to discover.

What do your think of Wendy’s chicken? Do you think that it offers food done right?
