The beacon alerting everyone to hot, fresh Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will have special meaning during the solar eclipse. For the first time, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts get eclipsed. The iconic Krispy Kreme glaze will be chocolate flavored in a limited edition solar eclipse doughnut.
Just for the eclipse, Krispy Kreme will transform the classic original glazed doughnut into chocolate deliciousness. The chocolate glaze will cover the doughnut completely, just like the original glaze. The chocolate glaze might be a little richer and thicker than the traditional glaze. For chocolate fans, this limited edition doughnut will be a dream come true. But, like the eclipse, the event could be short lived.

The special solar eclipse inspired Krispy Kreme Doughnut will be available all day on Monday, August 21. Also, doughnut fans can get a sneak peek of the limited edition doughnut on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20. But, the sneak peek is only available in the evenings, when the Hot Light is illuminated.
This limited edition doughnut is another example of Krispy Kreme expanded its flavors beyond the original glazed. Recently, the company released a Reese’s Peanut Butter doughnut to much fanfare. Doughnut fans lined up for the new release.
Earlier this summer Krispy Kreme celebrated its 80th year in business. The birthday cake doughnut was quite popular. Even more popular was the 80 cent second dozen promotion. Many stores had lines stretching long and far.
After a few recent setbacks in earnings, Krispy Kreme seems to be on an upswing. These special promotions appeal to loyal fans. From discounts to limited edition offerings, Krispy Kreme fans are coming back time and again to enjoy their favorite doughnuts.
