Does it get more authentic than a cafe owned and operated by French natives? Austin’s Le Cafe Crepe is the place to go for the best crepes and a delicious start to your day!

Can the best crepes be found in Austin? The Texas city might be home to delicious barbecue, amazing music and the SXSW festival, but it also has an amazing French café making some of the best crepes around.

Le Cafe Crepe is located in the heart of all the action, steps away from the Austin Convention Center at 200 San Jacinto, suite A, Austin, TX 78701. So, as you can imagine, when a large event such as SXSW is going on, the small restaurant is packed. Are festival attendees going to Le Cafe Crepe out of convenience due to the location, or are the crepes (and coffee) worth braving the crowds? I’m happy to say, it’s the latter.

My first stop was years ago during SXSW, the wait (which has never been over 10 minutes) was well rewarded. Even years later, these are the best crepes I’ve had the pleasure to have! After realizing locals go here for the food, Le Cafe Crepe has been a must-stop each time I visit Austin.

A personal favorite is Chloe’s Crepe, which is stuffed with Nutella and topped with whipped creme, strawberries or bananas. I always ask for both strawberries and bananas. And when in the mood for a healthier option, I always go for Crepe de Paris — eggs, swiss cheese, bacon, ham or smoked sausage.

To drink, whether the weather is hot or cold, I love to have the iced mocha with whipped cream!

Whether you want a healthy crepe stuffed with delicious ham and egg or you’re wanting to break the rules with dessert for breakfast, Le Cafe Crepe has it all. Feeling creative?

You can go crazy and request your own ingredients as well.

If you find yourself at Austin (or live there but have missed Le Cafe Crepe) be sure to check it out!
