This delicious double dark chocolate chip cookie recipe is made with Ghirardelli 60 percent chocolate chips and unsweetened chocolate. The dark chocolate chips make for a richer, more flavorful cookie.
If you don’t have dark chocolate chips, you can use regular semisweet chocolate chips instead of the 60 percent, but the darker the chocolate, the more fudgy the cookie. Who doesn’t love a fudgy, chocolate cookie?
You can also put peanut butter chips or white chips in the batter if you would like. I am actually putting a cookie dough frosting on these and top the cookies with melted chocolate. I’m giving a these cookies to my friends this weekend.

I haven’t been baking as much lately because our puppy, Gracie, is ten months old and very active. She basically is going from 6 A.M. when we get up until about 7 P.M. She gets two 45 minute walks a day and still had a ton of energy. She is a beautiful lab mix from new Orleans and is a doll.. but is wearing us out a little bit.
Baking can be a delicious break from my adorable little puppy and her puppy energy. With these super dark chocolate cookies, I can have a little treat and get re-energized to keep up with Gracie.

Double dark chocolate cookie recipe

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 10 oz bag dark chocolate chips
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolaye
- 3 eggs
- 1/1/4 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Melt butter , dark chocolate and unsweetened chocolate in 45 second increments until you can stir mixture smooth.
Set aside for 10 minutes
In separate bowl, beat eggs on medium high speed for 2 minutes. (I have a timer on my nesco hand mixer, which is pretty cool. I Joe I need a stand mixer, but they are so expensive)
Add sugar and beat on medium high speed for 2 minutes. Add melted chocolate mixture.
Stir in dry ingredients
Add chips
Chill batter for at least one hour
Preheat oven to 350
Using an ice cream scoop or cookienscoop, scoop out 1/4 cup mounds of dough.

Stagger cookies on non stick baking liners on top of cookie sheets (I fit 8 on a sheet)

- Bake 14-17 minutes (I like my cookies to be soft and giushy, so I took them out around15 munutes)
- Let cool 10 minutes on cookie sheet.
- Remove and cool completely
