Santa’s Baking Blizzard preview: Mrs. Claus’ Night Off
On Santa’s Baking Blizzard, Mrs. Claus’ is getting a day off. Can these holiday displays live up to the holiday greatness that everyone expects?
Another episode of Santa’s Baking Blizzard is on the Food Network tonight and it is looking festive. While everyone would love a break during the busy holiday season, who deserves a day off? Mrs. Claus, of course!
According to the Food Network, this week’s Santa’s Baking Blizzard features the following:
"Mrs. Claus has finished her Christmas preparations, and Casey Webb challenges three teams of master holiday bakers and their ice sculptors to show off a new side of Santa’s better half in out-of-this-world cake designs and displays. The teams pull out all the stops to impress judges Jocelyn Delk Adams, Amanda Freitag and Zac Young, and the most impressive cake advances one team to the grand finale."
After last week’s premiere, it is curious that there isn’t an issue with these ice sculptures ruining the cake displays. Usually water (or moisture) ruins fondant and sugar. It must be really cold in that studio.
In the first episode, the ice sculptures were not as integrated as it might have seemed. A backdrop or a stand wasn’t the best use of an ice sculpture.
Additionally, these teams seem to be very, very creative. The amount of detail in the displays is quite impressive.
Since this episode’s challenge features Mrs. Claus’ day off, it will be curious to see what she does. From a beach scene to a spa day, the options are many. Will all those elves be waiting on her hand and foot?
