The Busch Family Brewed is coming to MTV (and 4 more Brew TV needs)
LandShark Lager (and Jimmy Buffett)
Not a far jump from The Busch Family Brewed could be a reality/documentary series about the Anheuser-Busch brand LandShark Lager. This lager is brewed in Jacksonville, Florida and launched in 2006 as a house beer for Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant chain. This island-style lager was made to compete with Corona and has a fun history.
In 2009, Dolphin Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, and the Miami Hurricanes, was renamed “Land Shark Stadium”. In addition to being the house beer for Margaritaville, the brand has opened LandShark Bar & Grill in several locations, including Myrtle Beach in South Carolina and Atlantic City in New Jersey. The LandShark brand has even been used for a retail concept: Landshark Surfshack Retail Shop.
The biggest attraction to a series based on LandShark Lager would be the King of the Parrotheads himself, Jimmy Buffet. With a career that has spanned over 50 years in music (with some fun cameos in film and TV), various business ventures, and a die-hard fanbase; an inside look at Buffett’s domestic life could be an interesting story.
While LandShark Lager is relatively new to the beer scene, the beer that came from Buffett’s song Fins and was made to compete with Corona has the ability to produce a Jimmy Buffett led show. A fun laid back, island adventure about Jimmy Buffett, LandShark Lager, and Margaritaville is a show we’d like to see one day.
