Chipotle Queso Blanco now is rolling out nationwide
The new Chipotle Queso Blanco is rolling out nationwide after a successful response from test markets.
The new Chipotle Queso Blanco is rolling out on a nationwide basis starting Thursday, February 27, according to Yahoo Finance.
Made with white cheddar cheese, aged Monterrey Jack, and a blend of chipotle, serrano and poblano peppers, it uses no artificial ingredients and only 13 ingredients in total.
Following the company’s “stage-gate process” of testing at 52 locations in Dallas, Detroit and San Diego in August 2019, a successful response promoted the menu item to permanent status.
It seems to be a hit with customers already, based on social media reactions.
“Feedback on Queso Blanco in the test markets exceeded our expectations and it quickly became clear that we needed to give all of our guests access to this delicious queso,” Chris Brandt, Chipotle chief marketing officer, said in a press release. “Our culinary team perfected a recipe of real, responsibly sourced ingredients, helping to advance our mission of cultivating a better world.”
As a way to further that company mission, the Monterrey Jack comes from milk produced by small and mid-sized family farms in Wisconsin, and Chipotle, along with the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, are hosting a $5,000 grant and yearlong membership to the National Young Farmers Coalition. 50 winners will be selected, and the application period is open until Sunday, March 29.
The Chipotle Queso Blanco will replace the current yellow cheese queso on the menu.
Founded in 1993, Chipotle Mexican Grill has over 2,600 locations throughout the US, Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. For more information about Queso Blanco or any other food on the menu, see their website for more details.
