There’s a new brewery in Eldersburg, Maryland! 1623 Brewing Company recently opened it’s doors, and has been a local hit since!

Eldersburg, Maryland, is a quiet little suburb just outside of Baltimore that’s quickly growing. From new shopping centers and restaurants, to a brand new brewery! 1623 Brewery opened it’s doors recently, and has been a hit since. I checked out the brewery the other day with a friend, and we were pleasantly surprised at how busy it was on a Friday afternoon.

The name 1623 comes from something rather heartwarming;

"There are exactly 1,623 miles and countless beers between the McKelvin and Rissmiller families. Family owned by cousins Mike McKelvin and Zac Rissmiller and community driven by their respective neighborhoods in Westminster, Maryland and Elizabeth, Colorado, 1623 Brewing prides itself in crafting high quality beer with deep-rooted, continental connections inspired by the ones who we love most."

I’m a little obsessed with Pilsner’s, and 1623 Brewery has the perfect German-style Pilsner. This 5.2% ABV, 20 IBU is an easy to drink beer, made with German-grown Pilsner malt, Magnum, and Saaz hops. This refreshing beer was just what I needed on a cold Friday afternoon!

Their tap list is pretty impressive — so if you like a variety of beers, 1623 Brewery has you covered.

You can do flights, half pours, and full pours here. These options are great for those of you who just want to try a little bit and not get too crazy.

Looking for some food to go along with your beer? You can order from Basta Pasta, which is right around the corner from 1623 Brewery! The space inside is seriously beautiful as well, with exposed stone walls and plush leather couches throughout. They also offer an outdoor patio, but personally I won’t be out there until the weather gets a bit warmer!

Service is good, and I’m sure with time it’ll get better. The staff is knowledgeable on their beers, and they aren’t hesitant about offering suggestions.

As of now the brewery is not offering tours like other area breweries, but keep an eye on their social media. That should change soon. If you’re in the area or up for a beautiful scenic drive, visit 1623 Brewery!
