Sweet Potato Pie on Thanksgiving? Yes please, and please may I have some more?

Very few pies scream Thanksgiving more than a southern Sweet Potato Pie. The best part about this particular pie is that you can eat it all year long and it is a near-perfect fit for any dinner, party, holiday, or season.

So why would I say that a pie you can eat all year long would be a perfect addition to a Thanksgiving table? Well, I know it sounds rather boring if that were the case and nothing special but this pie is one of the few, if not the only pie, that can be dressed up for special occasions. It is the pie that changes with the season.

From nutty croutons pictured above to warmed walnuts in a sweet honey glaze and topped with an AlaMode scoop of ice cream, the SPP is so versatile you can make it your own and claim it as such. And the best part, well, not that we really care, but the pie is made with sweet potatoes so there is a healthy side to an otherwise fully indulgent dive into one of the most delicious Thanksgiving desserts.

Sweet potato pies don’t need to be just a southern dish and you can impress your family and friends up north by diving in and creating something wonderful!
