Whole New You: How Real Food Transforms Your Life, for a Healthier, More Gorgeous You: A Cookbook by Tia Mowry ($17.99)
Tia Mowry is best known for starring in 90s sitcom Sister, Sister, but the actress also had her own show on the Cooking Channel called Tia Mowry at Home. Mowry credits her life-changing diagnosis of endometriosis to make changes in her diet. By cutting out dairy, refined sugar, and processed foods, and eating cleaner, Mowry’s pain decreased, migraines stopped, skin cleared up, and she was finally able to get pregnant. With these changes in her life and health, Mowry wants to share tips and tricks to make eating clean more approachable. The book includes lighter versions of favorite comfort food recipes, including “Buttermilk” Fried Chicken and Crispy Collard Chips, healthy recipes for kids, tips to eat healthy on the go, and other ways to live a healthier lifestyle.
I LOVE this book!!! I have endometriosis and found this. I’ve tried two recipes out of it and so far they both were amazing! This is my favorite cook book! It gives you a list of what to substitute for certain things that contain gluten or dairy. The cauliflower pizza with non dairy vegetable cheese is my go to at the moment. I was on the edge on trying it because I’ve never tried anything like that before but it was soooo good!! I felt changing my diet to gluten and dairy free was going to be difficult but this book is changing my mind. If your hesitating on getting it, Get it!! — Jen
