Starbucks, our love for you is as real as it gets. The coffee chain we can never live without is forever changing the coffee game and recently announced that it will be adding even more plant-based drink options to its menu, like a Shaken Espresso.

Starbucks is adding two new iced, plant-based shaken espresso beverages to its core menu – Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso and Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso along with the national launch of Honey Oatmilk Latte, which was previously only available regionally.

Hold on, what exactly is a Starbucks Shaken Espresso’?

Basically, it’s the well-known technique Starbucks first introduced in 2003. You know, the “shake, shake, shake” sound you hear when your barista is working hard on those iced beverages.

Eighteen years ago, Starbucks introduced its hand-shaken iced coffee and teas through a modeled technique inspired by mixology that cools a beverage quickly and allows the ingredients to mix perfectly to bring out the best flavors in your coffee.

Okay, now we’re on board.

Introducing the NEW Iced Shaken Espresso lineup at Starbucks.

Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

First up, the new Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso starts with shots of Starbucks® Blonde Espresso, shaken with brown sugar and cinnamon and topped with oatmilk. Anything with cinnamon and brown sugar has my attention and is a must try!

Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso

Up next, Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso is made with Starbucks® Blonde Espresso, cocoa and notes of malt shaken and topped with almondmilk. Sounds dreamy! The description of this new beverage reminds me of frozen hot chocolate. *Hint, hint Starbucks*

And now available nationwide, Honey Oatmilk Latte, is a mix of Oatmilk and signature espresso intentionally combined with a hint of honey and a toasted honey topping – a savory tribute to all things sweet and salty.

In case that wasn’t big enough news, Starbucks also revealed they will now offer Oatly oatmilk in stores nationwide.

Wait, tell me more about the non-dairy milk options at Starbucks.

Oatmilk will be the fourth non-dairy milk available to customers in the U.S. to enjoy alongside other permanent favorites soymilk, coconutmilk and almondmilk.

“We’re pleased to bring Oatly oatmilk to Starbucks stores nationwide in the U.S., something our customers have asked for as they increasingly seek a variety of plant-based choices,” said Luigi Bonini, senior vice president, Global Product Innovation at Starbucks.

Starbucks first started offering non-dairy milk at its stores in the U.S. in 1997 with the addition of soymilk, followed by coconutmilk in 2015 and almondmilk in 2016.

FYI, iced coffee isn’t just for summer anymore.

Obviously, this is my own opinion but I’m here to say that iced coffee is acceptable in 20-degree weather, because why not? Plus, most of you probably agree – we know Starbucks does.

In the past four years alone, cold beverage sales at Starbucks have grown by nearly 45 percent!

light. Related Story. Have you tried this Starbucks beverages with 10g of sugar or less?

Come to the icy side if you haven’t transition. It’s not as bad as you think and  the new Iced Shaken Espresso lineup can be your choice of beverage.
