Ice cream season is upon us and ice cream shops are giving us so many reasons to visit. Baskin-Robbins is debuting new sips and scoops for April including a spicy, savory Mangonada and a Watermelon Swirl Sorbet.
The Mangonada ‘Scoop’
You might be wondering what is a Mangonada? According to Baskin-Robbins, Mangonada is a frozen beverage that combines sweet, tart, and savory authentic Mexican flavors into one unique drinking experience.
In Mexico, Mangonada is the most common frozen beverage known for beating the heat since it hits both sweet and savory.
For over two years the Baskin-Robbins flavor team has worked to craft the Mangonada, making it their mission to nail the right ingredients for this Mexican beverage.

Baskin-Robbins’ new Mangonada is a chilled treat, swirling together the sweet, savory and spicy flavors of mango puree, chamoy and Tajín Clásico Seasoning, which is a signature Mexican spice blend that features a combination of chili peppers, lime, and sea salt.
“Chamoy” is a traditional Mexican condiment that is typically served as a dip for fresh fruit, which helps to balance the sweetness of the mango. Yup, Baskin-Robbins really thought of it all to make this a true authentic experience!
What makes the Baskin-Robbins’ Mangonada different than the original is that the chamoy is added at the bottom of the cup to create a thick layer that blends directly into the mango puree as its poured on top. Smart, right?
If that isn’t enough, chamoy is also then drizzled to top off the beverage, making the ratio of salty to sweet just right from the first to the last sip.
The Mangonada is available at any local Baskin-Robbins shop now through the end of May.

Baskin-Robbins is also launching a Watermelon Swirl Sorbet and naming it the April Flavor of the Month!
The fruit forward sorbet features a tart raspberry-flavored ribbon swirled into sweet watermelon sorbet and the best part, it’s dairy free!
