It is often said that money can’t possibly buy true happiness for anyone. Money can, however, buy pizza. And since eating pizza most definitely results in per joy, the above saying has little ground to stand on.

All joking aside, pizza has undoubtedly become one of, if not, the most popular foods in the world. Since its origin in Naples, Italy centuries ago, pizza continues to evolve in shape and style.

In Italy, both Sicily and Rome have developed their own Sicilian and Roman styles, while the United States became the birthplace of notable styles such as the traditional New York-style thin-crust, Chicago-style deep dish and Detroit-style pan pizza.

Regardless of your choice of style, there’s a good chance you’re going to want some toppings on that pizza. Most people tend to stick with more familiar options such as pepperoni or sausage. But there are pizzerias, most notably California Pizza Kitchen, that opt to go against the grain with options such as BBQ Chicken and/or Macaroni to name a few.

However, there seems to be a growing number of, dare I say, horrifying food items that have somehow found their way on top of pizzas across the globe.
