Broccoli

This one here is quite the head-scratcher. I had always known that broccoli on pizza was sort of a thing, but I didn’t realize how common it actually is. More and more pizzerias are succumbing to the pressure of the broccoli fanatics and are allowing this to take place in their own establishment. Well I, for one, will not stand for it.

Let’s just be honest, no one actually enjoys eating broccoli. So the food that your parents had to force you to eat when you were a child has no business being associated with your guilty pleasure.

I know, I know, broccoli is quite good for you. But that doesn’t mean you have to punish your pizza just to get it down.

Pizza is meant to be a treat and a true delicacy. Broccoli, on the other hand, is one of those vegetables that you scarf down because of its nutritional value, not because of its taste. In most cases, it often has to be seasoned with pepper and salt just to make it slightly more palatable. So, while other veggies can add a sweet, salty or spicy effect to pizza, broccoli does none of that and doesn’t work in this case.

That’s not to say broccoli doesn’t pair well with any other foods. Take chicken, for example. That is where the gains are!

How about cheddar cheese? Definitely, soup restaurants all over the world have made their living off of this combo.

But, pizza? No. Absolutely not.
