Fun foodie Halloween costumes with lots of spirits!

Wondering what you’ll wear for Halloween this year? You could dress up as a pumpkin, a ghost or a vampire, but isn’t that a bit “Been there done that?” How about a fun foodie or liquored up costume? And because you are older than the average trick or treater, you can spice things up with spirited 100 proof themes that will get you in the spirit of Halloween!
Let’s really get in the spirit by dressing you and your partner up as your favorite cocktail. Then you can mix up a spooky version of that same cocktail. There is a bounty of cocktail costume ideas on Pinterest – would you like to be a Bloody Mary, a martini or even an Aperol spritz? There’s a costume for most any cocktail you can think of. Is gin and tonic your favorite drink? Krazykitchenmom.com has a recipe for a Spooky Gin and Tonic. Made with Empress 1908 Gin, Cointreau and Blue Curacao. The blending of these purple and blue spirits make the cocktail look supernatural. Notes of sweet and citrus make this the perfectly spooky libation.
On Amazon you can find wine, beer and whiskey costumes. They also sell a dragon fruit hat. Why anyone would want a dragon fruit hat, I don’t know and I’m not sure I want to find out. But that’s part of the fun of Halloween, surprising everyone with the unexpected.
Looking for a DIY costume? If you are in a “winey mood” on October 31, you can dress up as a bunch of grapes – purple balloons safety-pinned to a tee-shirt to make grapes. The Spruce Eats has the perfect wine punch for your Halloween get together – Bloody Rum Punch! Add citrus wheels to your favorite red wine, a bit (or more than a bit) of rum and triple sec and you’ve got yourself the makings of a spooky spirited party.
Are you and your partner looking for fun foodie costumes? Dress up as a classic pairing – wine and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, cookies and milk, and pizza and beer. Or maybe a little more daring pairing – Spam and champagne! And don’t forget Rover – he can dress up as a “hot dog”!
Etsy and Ebay have lots fun spirited Halloween costumes too, including some spirited t-shirts with fun Halloween sayings: “My broomstick runs on gin”, “I’m here for the boos”, “Hocus Pocus, I need wine to focus”.
What fun spirited foodie costume are you planning to dream up this Halloween?
