The Peppermint Chip Milkshake is back at Chick-Fil-A just in time for the holiday season.

This limited-time offering debuted in stores for the 2021 holiday season on November 1, and only at participating restaurants, so check with your local store before ordering.

Each Peppermint Chip Milkshake features vanilla soft serve with a hefty dose of peppermint bark, topped with whipped cream and a cherry for that added festive touch (though oddly the cherry is not included on delivery orders).

This makes for the comforting familiarity of a candy cane in a convenient drinkable form, which seems like a win-win situation if there ever was one.

On the company blog, the top 10 cities who loved the Peppermint Chip Milkshake last season were revealed as well.

Going by that ranking, though the chain is known for its southern-fried chicken nuggets and sandwiches, surprisingly, northern cities tend to be milkshake-crazy.

  • No. 10 – Twin Falls, Idaho
  • No. 9 – Missoula, Montana
  • No. 8 – Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
  • No. 7 – Boise, Idaho
  • No. 6 – Appleton, Wisconsin
  • No. 5 – Harrisonburg, Virginia
  • No. 4 – Plattsburgh, New York
  • No. 3 – Idaho Falls, Idaho
  • No. 2 – Bangor, Maine
  • No. 1 – Salt Lake City, Utah

Chick-Fil-A also revealed their 2021 holiday season commercial, done in Claymation-style animation. It follows Sam, the girl featured in the first two holiday, as she and her friend CeCe work in a bakery in their town of Evergreen Hills that turns kitchen mishaps into wonderful treats.

This ad will air for the first time on TV on NBC on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 25), likely during the parade or the National Dog Show, and will run on TV and in movie theaters until Christmas Eve.

“This time of year can be full of unrealistic expectations,” Ashley Callahan, senior director of integrated creative at Chick-fil-A, said in a press release. “From picking out the perfect tree, to serving the perfect meal, to answering the question, ‘What traditions am I creating for my family?’–the list goes on and on. We want to encourage people to see all the messy, not social media worthy, real-life experiences as opportunities to embrace all of it and not miss the wonderful moments we’re in with the people we love.”
