After a hiatus, the 2022 White House Egg Roll has returned to the lawn. As families gather to enjoy the historic tradition, the Colonnade of Eggs celebrates 45 years of commemorating America’s First Ladies and their causes. This year’s unveiling inspires everyone to believe what is possible.

Over the years, America’s Egg Farmers have supported the annual White House holiday tradition. While the Easter bunny might have plenty of eggs in the basket and is bringing all the fun to the families, it is more than just springtime frivolity. There are many messages to be told in this annual event.

The annual America’s First Lady’s commemorative egg is more than an intricate design and a lovely piece of decorative art. Each one invites people to think about how they can act, who they represent, and what actions they can do to make a difference.

As Emily Metz, president and CEO of the American Egg Board said, “It is a privilege and a joy for America’s egg farmers to continue the 45-year legacy of gifting the handcrafted Commemorative Egg, a tribute to our nation’s first ladies, their patriotism and service, and in recognition of the causes closest to their hearts.”

For the 2022 First Lady’s commemorative egg, the American Egg Board drew inspiration from Dr. Jill Biden’s dedication to education. While there is a clear nod to Delaware, one simple phrase invites a bigger conversation.

In a lovely script, the words “education is possibility set in motion” look to encourage others to open their minds. While kids might see the daily grind of schoolwork as a chore, that opportunity sets them on a path for success. A little momentum can get the ball roll for a lifetime of curiosity, ingenuity and compassion.

During this Easter Egg Roll, the Colonnade of Eggs features all of the creations from the past 45 years. The represent not just a collection of visual beauty but stand as a reminder that strong, thoughtful leaders have fulfilled that role as First Lady. And, maybe can inspire others to encourage others to live their best lives and get things rolling one egg at a time.
