Who didn’t try to make pancake cereal? As one of those infamous TikTok food trends, this concept had many people flipping over a different way to enjoy a pancake. Now two food icons have come together in a delicious way. Hungry to pour that first bowl of IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal?

Over the years, food brands have found ways to creatively collaborate. Whether it is bringing together flavors that just go together or pushing the envelope of culinary creativity, many people get excited to have that first bite.

In a recent company announcement, IHOP has partnered with General Mills to offer IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal. Transforming those iconic blueberry pancakes into bite sized, crunchy cereal pieces, this new offering has people ditching the fork and grabbing the spoon.

As Kieran Donahue, Chief Marketing Officer, IHOP said, “As a leader in breakfast and pancakes, IHOP tapped another breakfast hero, General Mills, to help bring the long-awaited collaboration to life. After the viral moment in 2020, we knew guests had an appetite for an IHOP cereal. We helped create this iconic cereal in hopes that our guests would look forward to it any time of day.”

Brianna Menning, Sr. Brand Manager, Cereal Innovation at General Mills continued that sentiment saying, “At General Mills we make food the world loves by creating moments that taste good and bring joy to families everywhere. We are delighted to collaborate with IHOP and introduce the IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal to bring fun and flavor to fans across the country.”

What can people expect from the IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal?

The IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal launches with a Blueberry & Syrup flavor. The tiny pancake shaped cereal pieces have that sweetness from the syrup and the fruitiness from the blueberries. It is as if the cereal magicians waved a magic wand over that pancake stack. Plus, there is no worry about potentially dripping syrup on your shirt.

This cereal flavor delivers in the convenience category. When that craving for pancakes hits, there is no need to pull out the griddle or drive to the restaurant. Now, that taste is sitting on the pantry shelf.

While many people will happily pour a bowl for breakfast or anytime of day, the cereal can go beyond the bowl. From a topping for a milkshake or even a cupcake, the reality is that many people will find other uses for this cereal offering. Even a quick snack (possibly combined with nuts for a heartier option) would be great.

The new IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal will start arriving in stores this December. A larger nationwide rollout will begin in January.
