Beloved pastry chef and TV personality, Duff Goldman, is returning to the Food Network again this month for his upcoming series Super Mega Cakes, which will debut on June 16.

Goldman has been around for decades now, but one of his original claims to fame was the reality series Ace of Cakes. In more recent years he has been on Food Network's many Baking Championship shows along with Halloween Cookie Challenge, Iron Chef America, Man v. Food, and more.

Super Mega Cakes will feature "Team Duff" committing to the ultimate bake-off with a team of six incredible cake artists from all over the country. Designed to push Duff and his crew's skills to the limits, this series has recruited some of the most talented artists around and tasked them with making mind-blowing pieces of art with interactive elements.

Across the show's six-episode first season, themes will include things like Superman (likely to promote Warner Bros. upcoming film releasing in theaters this July), Architectural Wonders, Classic Cartoons, Under the Sea (with a floating element), and Alien Invasion (with a lighting scheme).

For the Superman challenge, the competitors will need to make a cake inspired by the caped hero that includes an animation element.

In each episode, a "head-to-head build" must impress judges Amaury Guichon and Sherry Yard, who determine each week's best cake. Duff has to manage all six projects simultaneously. Yard is a James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur, while Guichon is an acclaimed chocolatier known for shows like School of Chocolate and Dessert Masters.

Additional guest judges to be featured on the series include Beck Bennett, Eric Bauza, Paul de Gelder, Jack Osbourne, Drew Scott, and Jacques Torres.

The six-episode competition will culminating in a presentation featuring the final cakes presented to a group of 50 people, who will all be given the chance to taste the cakes and decide the grand champion.

The first episode of the season is "supersized," allowing Duff to meet all of the teams and learn more about each unique theme. He will be joined by the Charmed City Cakes team and chef Geof Manthorne.

Goldman has participated in all sorts of different cooking, baking, and food-related shows over the years, but it will be fun to see him returning to a competition series based purely around cakes!
