With fast food prices ticking up, it's nice to know there is at least one chain out there dedicated to creating an affordable and delicious meal combo. The popular Habit Burger & Grill, a California-based restaurant, has launched their limited-time "Gotta Habit Meal Deals," featuring three different combos that come with a side and a drink.
These meal deals officially launched on June 11 and will remain available at Habit Burger & Grill until July 9. While this initial deal is marketed as a limited-time offer, it's possible that they will make a comeback in the future.
Details below.
- $6 Meal Deal: 1/2 BBQ Grilled Chicken, a hand-filleted chicken breast topped with BBQ sauce, melted cheese, shredded lettuce, fresh tomato, and mayo, all stacked between two slices of grilled sourdough, served with regular fountain drink and your choice of a side
- $8 Meal Deal: 1/2 Chicken Club, the marinated grilled chicken pairs with succulent smoky bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, on sourdough, served with a large fountain drink and your choice of side
- $10 Meal Deal: 1/2 Santa Barbara Char, a chargrilled beef patty with lettuce, tomato, carmelized onions, melted cheese, avocado, pickles, and mayo, on grilled sourdough, servied with five-piece chicken bites, a choice of side, and a large fountain drink
For the side choices, you'll be able to choose between Tempura Green Beans, French Fries, or a Side Garden Salad. Note that prices and participation may vary by location. The deals are available at select locations in California, Utah, Washington, Florida, and Nevada.
I vouch for the Tempura Green Beans, a staple at Habit and one of their most-loved sides. They also come with a side of Ranch dressing which elevates this crunchy dish to a perfect 10.
A big part of Habit's promotional push for these meal deals is comparison to another leading burger chain. Habit has ensured that their sandwiches are more robust than their competitor, as per their company menus.
For instance, by comparison, half of Habit's Santa Barbara Char is 243 grams while their competitor's entire burger is only 229 grams. A similar comparison was made between Habit's 1/2 BBQ chicken sandwich and the other chain's whole chicken sandwich, as pictured below. In short, you're paying less and still getting more with these meal deals.

“The scales have spoken: our half beats their whole,” said Jack Hinchliffe, Chief Marketing Officer at Habit Burger & Grill. "Gotta Habit Meal Deals are our way of raising the bar on what a value menu should be. We're serving up bold flavor, real ingredients, and serious satisfaction, with generous portions that hit way above their weight.”
Habit is known for its Charburgers, cooked-to-order, and using flavorful, quality ingredients like toasted sourdough and fresh avocado. The company has received recognition from outlets like USA Today, Thrillest, The Daily Meal, Newsweek, and more.
