Halloween might be several weeks away, but Food Network will be kicking off the spooky season this September with the return of one of its biggest Halloween original shows: Halloween Baking Championship!
Halloween Baking Championship is not only coming back for another season, but the new season is just around the corner. As first reported by Variety, season 11 of Food Network’s hit holiday baking show will kick off on Monday, September 15 at 9/8c.
The season will feature the return of John Henson as host, with Stephanie Boswell, Carla Hall and Zac Young all confirmed to return as judges for the new season. Joining our returning host and judges will be a crop of 10 new bakers who will enter the haunted mansion to compete over the course of seven episodes for the title of Halloween Baking Champion!
This season, our bakers will be tested over the course of the season in a series of sinister challenges which will pull inspiration from the haunted manor and their personal fears. Halloween Baking Championship season 11 will be introducing a new twist to the show’s format which is sure to divide fans of the show.
Rather than the baker who made the judges’ least favorite dish being eliminated following the main heat bake, the bottom three bakers will have to face off to bake for their lives. Following the Bottom 3 showdown, the judges will eliminate one of the three bakers from the competition.
As the official release for the season teases that the “bottom three bakers in most episodes will be forced to bake for their lives,” we imagine this twist will only apply for the first few rounds of the competition, which would make the most sense. When we get to the final episodes, as a bake-off for safety could see half or more of the bakers fighting for their place in the next round.
Just how long the twist will last remains to be seen, but it’s something that is sure to shake up the competition by giving bakers an extra shot to save themselves from elimination. This could give some bakers a much-needed shot at redemption and save top bakers from going home due to one bad dish.
While the journey to the finale might look different this year, the end result will still be the same. By the end of the season, the judges will crown a new Halloween Baking Champion who will walk away with the title and the show’s $25,000 grand prize!
Fans won’t want to miss the new season of Halloween Baking Championship and tuning in has never been easier! In addition to new episodes airing weekly on Food Network, fans will be able to stream the episodes the following day on HBO Max.
