Roku is significantly expanding its Baking Show universe with original series, renewals, and more

The Roku Channel is quickly becoming a destination viewing spot for fans of baking television shows. This free, ad-supported channel features a mix of originals and a robust library of content. For those who cannot get enough of The Great American Baking Show and its many spinoffs, we've got more good news to share! FoodSided has learned that The Roku Channel has ordered new original series along with announcing several highly-anticipated renewals.

The flagship series The Great American Baking Show has been renewed for a fourth season along with confirmed new iterations of The Great American Baking Show Celebrity Holiday Special, The Great American Baking Show Big Game, and The Great American Baking Show Celebrity Summer.

On the "new" side of things, Roku is making a Halloween-themed celebrity special of The Great American Baking Show along with seasons 8 and 9 of The Great British Baking Show: Juniors, which will be launched as an original series.

For those unfamiliar with The Roku Channel, it is a free, ad-supported, over-the-top video service, also known as a "FAST" network/app. This means that Roku's content is easily accessible to virtually anyone with an internet connection and who doesn't mind watching ads.

Along with the news, we've learned that actor Andrew Rannells will board The Great American Baking Show as a co-host with Casey Wilson.

Discussing what's to come for the channel, Head of Originals, Brian Tannenbaum shared that they're excited to provide audiences with "more of the endearing and feel-good moments" they've come to expect from the baking series.

Beginning as an American adaptation of The Great British Bakeoff, The Great American Baking Show first premiered on ABC before it was later moved to The Roku Channel in 2022. The channel as a whole currently offers a diverse catalog of movies and shows, with more than 80,000 availalbe along with 500 live television channels.

In addition to the new content, several older seasons of baking shows will be made available through The Roku Channel library, including The Great Pottery Throwdown and The Great British Sewing Bee. Check out the complete list below.
