Even Lollapalooza embraces the summer frose craze

As music fans descend on Chicago for Lollapalooza, concert goers can stay refreshed with their favorite summer drink, rose. The summer frose craze is coming to the summer music festival.

Summer and rose are becoming synonymous. The pretty pink wine is everywhere. Even popular food personalities like Anthony Bourdain admit to drinking it. For this weekend’s Lollapalooza, no one will have rose withdrawal. The frose craze will be flowing all four days.

Frose is just what it sounds like, rose in frozen slushy form. As one of the festival’s official sponsors, Cupcake Vineyards, created its frose. Using the Cupcake Vineyards rose, the frozen beverage offers a refreshing, quenching sip during the music festival. Watermelon and strawberry flavors add a hint of sweetness to this rose. Sipping on its own or with a light bite, this rose, or frose, hits a high note.

But, frose won’t be the only special beverage flowing at Lollapalooza. Cupcake Vineyards will be serving the summer’s other hottest trend, popsicles. The “poptails” are fresh fruit based ice pops with Cupcake Vineyards. Who doesn’t want to feel like a kid again?

Millennials have been influential in both the frose/rose and poptails trend. While the color is pretty, the pink hue isn’t the reason to drink this wine. Rose is approachable. The flavors are light, familiar and drinkable. From a sitting at a barbecue to a campfire, rose can go anywhere at any time.

The other summer trend, poptails, brings back youthful memories. As a kid, popsicles meant summer fun. Whether homemade or from the box, these treats were synonymous with warm weather and long days. Turning the popsicles into an adult beverage brings back the fun. Very few people can be unhappy when eating a popsicle.

Even though these two summer indulgences are for Lollapalooza attendees, anyone can enjoy a similar beverage at home. Store shelves are lined with bottle of rose. A quick search on Pinterest can result in numerous frose recipes. The same can be said for boozy popsicles. In both cases, even if the recipes don’t quite go as planned, you still have a tasty beverage.
