Only two food trucks remain in the Great Food Truck Race finale. Which team races through Savannah to win the $50,000?
The Great Food Truck Race finale ends in Savannah, Georgia. Braised in the South battles Mr. Po Boys for the ultimate prize of $50,000. Will this last challenge produce an upset? We will have to wait and see.
According to Food Network, the final episode features:
"The final two food truck teams arrive in Savannah, and Tyler Florence’s first challenge brings the teams out of the food trucks and into a new mobile selling vehicle: pedicabs. Each team has a half hour to make as much food as possible to sell out of their own pedicabs, and the team with the most profits gets $500 added to their till. Next, the teams travel through the city, where they sell head-to-head in new locations. At each location, they receive a new shellfish to include in a dish, and the team that sells the most fish dishes gets $500. Finally, Tyler reveals the team with the highest total till, the winner of Great Food Truck Race: Battle for the South!"
This season, Braised in the South has been a leader. Their food appeals to Southern patrons. A combination of comfort food and elevated flavors, the food shines. These professional chefs make food that everyone wants to eat. From the brewery patron to families, Braised in the South has a wide fan base.
Mr. Po Boys has done well in the flavor challenges, but has struggled with sales. Since this food truck only sells po boys, some patrons pass over the truck. But, when people taste their food, they want more. Selling, both their food and themselves, will be key to their success.
Savannah is an interesting choice for the finale. The downtown area is filled with restaurants and bars. But, the downtown area is small and selling space could be limited. Also, competition for food dollars is huge. Finding a connection with locals and visitors could propel a food truck to the big win.
