The classic cereal, Froot Loops, is getting an upgrade. For the first time in 10 years, the Kellogg’s brand is getting a new flavor. New Wild Berry Froot Loops are coming to store shelves. Can your taste buds handle the new sweet and fruity flavors in your cereal bowl?
According to Kellogg’s, the new Wild Berry flavor is a “berry-inspired mix of red, blue and green iconic loops” with a new purple star added to the mix. Although the exact berry flavor is unclear, this cereal is meant to be both fruity and sweet. As long as the balance of tart and sweet is on point, this new cereal could be a hit.
Launching a new berry flavor cereal in the summer is a smart move for Kellogg’s. Berries are a popular summer fruit. From blueberries to strawberries, who hasn’t served a summer berry fruit salad? These fruits are popular with all ages.

As for the wild berry flavor, the name might be a nod to the bright colors, not necessarily the flavor. Berries come in various flavors, shapes and sizes. Wild isn’t necessarily a flavor description; rather it is how the berry is grown. While Kellogg’s isn’t foraging berries from the wild, it is a fun name for the cereal.
While the flavors might appeal to the adult cereal eater, the colors appeal to the younger audience. The brightly colored cereal bowl adds some fun to breakfast. The bright blue color (maybe a blue raspberry) is a favorite with kids. I wonder if the colorful cereal creates some colorful milk. Who doesn’t love that sweet milk left after eating a bowl of cereal?
The addition of the purple star is interesting. I wonder how many flowers compared to loops are in a box. It could be an fun experiment to see if you always get at least one flower in every bowl of cereal. The flower is a little whimsical nod to the wild side of this cereal.
