It’s back. Food Network Star Season 14 premiere is here. Which of these hopefuls will have what it takes to join the Food Network?

Food Network Star Season 14 premiere is kicking off with an explosive first episode. With Universal’s Volcano Bay as the backdrop, these Food Network hopefuls better be ready for more than fun in the sun. Who will be up to the challenge in this new season of Food Network Star?

According to the Food Network, Food Network Star season 14 premiere episode states

"Ten “Food Network Star” hopefuls are greeted by Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay to kick off the competition; each finalist must create a portable version of their signature dish."

This new group of Food Network Star hopefuls aren’t all new faces. One of the 10 competitors will be from a previous season. The winner of this season’s Comeback Kitchen will join the newcomers. That experienced contestant doesn’t necessarily have an advantage in this competition.

For the first challenge, the hopefuls have a difficult task. Turning a signature dish into a portable dish is quite difficult. Also, convincing guests at Volcano Bay (a water park) to try a particular dish might be more about showmanship that the best food. It will be interesting to see if personality trumps taste.

It will be interesting to see if the hopeful from Orlando, Manny Washington, will have an advantage in this challenge. Could his knowledge of the Orlando food scene or Volcano Bay give him an edge in convincing guests to love this portable signature dish?
