According to Cooking Channel, the “new” episodes will premiere on Monday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. While these episodes aren’t completely new, the episodes feature new scenes intermixed with the classic show. The 13-episode series gives fans a taste of what they have been wanting for a long time.

  • In today’s announcement, it isn’t clear what food topics are being remastered. Alton Brown had so many popular episodes over the 13 year run. It will be curious to see if these episodes focus on the extremely popular choices, current food trends or something more obscure.

According to Allison Page, President, Food Network and HGTV, the “Alton’s present-day take on classic episodes in Reloaded is a taste of what’s to come.” Based on that statement, this 13-episode series should get foodies excited for more. While totally new episodes of Good Eats were not confirmed, this statement makes it sound that those episodes will be coming in the near future.

It will be curious to see how this classic, favorite food TV show stacks up in the current television landscape. Today, home cooks are much more food savvy. It could mean that Brown and the production needs to be more informative and innovative. Given Brown’s vast food knowledge, the topics for any future season could be quite interesting.
