The MasterChef Season 9 finale is here. The three remaining home cooks are ready to cook their meal of a lifetime. Only one home cook will earn the title. Do you think anyone has an advantage?

According to Fox, the MasterChef Season 9 finale synopsis states, “the three remaining home cooks must each prepare a three-course menu for the judges; the home cook with the best overall menu wins the prize and the coveted title of MasterChef.”

All season, this MasterChef competition was as much a competition for the judges as it was for the home cooks. Each of the judges, Gordon, Aaron and Joe, have a mentee in the finale. While each of the last home cooks want to earn the title, the judges want bragging rights as well. Could one judge have a trick or two to help their mentee earn the title?

Looking at the three remaining home cooks, my guess is that the title will go to either Cesar or Ashley. Although Gerron is quite talented, he hasn’t had as many wow moments as the other two finalists. He tends to stay in his comfort zone. While he has grown as a chef, he may not have the piazza to push his cooking to the top.

Cesar has impressed in some weeks and crashed in others. Overall, his food is thoughtful and flavorful. If he can find the right balance of flavors, he could excel. Still, he needs to execute smart technique to ensure that each dish is at its best.

Ashley seems to be the well-rounded chef. While she has been flustered, overall she has a clear vision in the kitchen. While willing to push her limits, she has been building confidence throughout the season.
