Ready for Halloween Wars Season 8 episode 3? In this episode, the witches ditch the broomstick and upgrade to a brand new ride.
Halloween Wars Season 8 episode 3 takes on a huge challenge. While witches are known to fly on the back of a broomstick, this episode has the four remaining teams dreaming of new witches’ rides. Wonder what is faster than a broomstick?
According to the Food Network, this week’s synopsis states:
"Four remaining teams consisting of an expert pumpkin carver, a cake artist and a sugar master put their skills to the test to create astonishing and delectable Halloween-themed displays that show what happens when a witch trades in her tired old broom for a brand new ride. Writer, director and producer Mick Garris of the iconic film Hocus Pocus joins the judges."
Thinking about this challenge, the ride component will be quite tricky. In the first two episodes, a couple teams have done cars. The teams won’t want to repeat their previous creations.
Also, the scale of these rides will be important. A big witch can’t ride in a tiny car. Or, can a little witch sit atop of a gigantic motorcycle? The display will have to balance all the components.

One of the judges on this episode comes from an iconic Halloween movie. Hocus Pocus balanced the scary yet funny characteristics of witches. The teams will need to take these characteristics into account when creating their displays.
Overall, the displays have been the big driving force in winning challenges. It would be nice to see the tasting element come into play. So far, that single bite is more of an afterthought. Maybe one of the teams can really impress, (in a good way), the judges’ taste buds this week.
Lastly, only two teams have won challenges. The Candied Cadavers and the Zesty Zombies score double wins on the first two episodes. While the other teams haven’t done poorly, it will be curious to see if the double win sweep continues in this episode.
