Is this week’s Halloween Baking Championship Season 4 episode 5 chaos under the big tent? Is this “Circus of Dread” just too creepy?

Halloween Baking Championship Season 4 episode 5 has the bakers channeling a Halloween theme that many people find extremely creepy, clowns. Even though these characters are meant to be entertaining, some people find them extremely frightening. For one baker, this week’s episode will be the final scare.

According to the Food Network, this week’s episode synopsis, Circus of Dread, states:

"Bakers enter the fortune-telling tent at the Circus of Dread in the pre-heat challenge; competitors are tasked with creating tarot card desserts; bakers then enter the Creepy Clown Hall of Fame in the main heat, where they create impressive desserts."

  • Tarot card desserts could be a very interesting dessert display. While I assume that the tarot card will inspire a particular theme, it should allow the bakers to be creative. From the magician to the fool, the potential themes are many. Could one of these desserts have a particular trick to its display?

As for the main heat, the creepy clown desserts could be both a trick and a treat. Clowns are usually a controversial topic. While it appears that this challenge focuses on the creepy factor, the bakers need to ensure that the decorations are more haunted house, not kid party.

This challenge could be hard for Steven. His desserts tend to be less creepy. While last week’s Hallowedding cake was nice, it wasn’t super scary. If he can’t challenge the creepy in this challenge, it could spell his doom.

If I had to bet, this challenge should be a good one for Lyndsy. She excels on these types of challenges. Her attention to detail is tremendous. As long as her flavors are clean, she should have a great chance of making the finale.
