SNICKERS sack for the troops benefits Operation Gratitude

While SNICKERS often sacks that hangry feeling, today the favorite candy bar is looking to score a big with a special benefit for Operation Gratitude.

Have you heard of Operation Gratitude? The charitable organization uses customized Care Package programs as a means for people to say thank you to service men and women. Tonight, everyone will be cheering for a big sack by Dallas Cowboys start defensive end, DeMarcus “Tank” Lawrence. That sack will bring some SNICKERS goodness to thousands of service men and women.

SNICKERS has challenged the candy fan, Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence to get a sack in tonight’s Monday Night Football game against the Tennessee Titans. If Lawrence earns a sack, the candy company will donate 20,000 “SNICKERS® Sacks.” This candy donation will be part of Operation Gratitude’s annual holiday Care Packages. These items will be delivered to service men and women who are deployed across the globe.

While the promotion is a fun engagement for SNICKERS fans and football fans, the idea is more than just a brand logo on some football cleats. The purpose is to provide a little taste of home to those brave men and women who are serving their country. Although a candy bar may not seem like a lot, sometimes those little things can make a big difference.

  • In addition to the candy in these care packages, volunteers will include a letter of appreciation in each care package. Again, that simple statement of gratitude can go a long way. Maybe if more people were willing to take a moment and share a positive thought, the world could be a little sweeter.

As Veterans Day celebrations approach, this engagement will be just one of many ways to show the support and gratitude for those people who have served. Many restaurants, companies and other establishments will find way to give back to the country’s veterans.

While the regular person might not be able to give 20,000 SNICKERS bars to Operation Gratitude, everyone can do some small gesture in her own way. From a kind word to a helping hand, those actions are needed to bring more positivity in this world.

Whether you are Cowboys fan, a football fan or even if you don’t know a sack from a safety, cheer on DeMarcus “Tank” Lawrence tonight. Remember that sack can bring a taste of home to many people who would appreciate it.
