Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge S1E2 preview: Rescue leftovers
In Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge S1E2, the four remaining chefs tackle a situation that many home cooks struggle with after Thanksgiving, leftovers.
Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge S1E2 focuses on a very important topic heading into the Thanksgiving holiday, leftovers. Whether you love them or hate them, leftovers are usually a part of Thanksgiving. While some people are happy with that midnight turkey sandwich, the creativity to turn those mashed potatoes into something more is celebrated.
Looking back at the first episode, the chefs seemed to do well overall. They balanced both tradition and creativity in the challenge. This week should see the chefs push themselves a little more.
According to the Food Network, Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge S1E2 synopsis states:
"The four remaining chefs take Thanksgiving classics to new heights. In round one, the chefs turn Thanksgiving sweet pies into a holiday side. The winner receives a huge advantage in round two, where the chefs take on everyone’s favorite part of the holidays…leftovers! One chef will be eliminated and the final three will head to the finale for a chance to win $25,000."
Turning the pies into a side dish isn’t necessarily a super hard challenge, unless the pie is a chocolate pie. Pumpkin, apple and pecan can easily be turned into a savory dish. These talented chefs should be able to tackle this challenge.

It will be interesting to see if the chefs all get the same pie or everyone gets a different pie. Truthfully, pumpkin pie would be the easiest option. There are so many savory dishes that can be used with pumpkin. The key to winning the advantage will be finding a creative, innovative approach to this challenge.
For the leftovers challenge, it will be interesting to see if the winner from the pre-heat assigns the leftovers. The chef with the worst combination of leftovers could really struggle. Sometimes it is the combination of foods that can spell disaster.
Looking at the main heat, I would put my money on Jackie. She has tackled some of these ideas from her time on The Chew. My guess is that she can find some creative approaches to leftovers. As long as all the food doesn’t end up in a blender (remember those bag Chew segments of can you blend it), she could do well.
