Turkey Trot runners have another reason to get out and exercise on Thanksgiving. Michelob ULTRA will be rewarding runners with free beer.

Ready Turkey Trot runners? While some people might run for an extra helping of stuffing or mashed potatoes, Michelob ULTRA is rewarding that extra holiday effort with beer. That’s right, runners participating in Turkey Trots across the country can score a free beer for their running efforts.

Did you know that the biggest running race day is Thanksgiving? Across the country, over 1 million runners participate in these types of races. Whether you are an occasional runner, weekend warrior or it is just a family tradition, everyone seems to think that exercise before the Thanksgiving feast is a great idea.

It is believe that the average American consumers 4,500 calories on the Thanksgiving holiday. That number is well over double the normal daily calorie count. It makes sense that a little extra exercise is a good idea. But, a prize can be some good motivation, too.

While many local races offer their own participating prizes, Michelob Ultra understands that some people might need a little more motivation to tie up those sneakers. Wouldn’t an ice cold, refreshing beer be the icing on the proverbial cake?

Since Michelob ULTRA only has 95 calories and 2.6 carbs, it doesn’t negate all that exercise effort. Given all the extra calorie consumption over the holiday, why spend those calories on beer.

To get the free beer, the brand said the following “All runners (21+ in participating markets) need to do is follow @MichelobULTRA and share a photo from their Turkey Trot using #WillRunForBeer and tagging @MichelobULTRA – and the beer’s on ULTRA! Runners will receive a Drizly code to redeem.”

This promotion is the easiest way to score a free beer. If you know that you will be running a Turkey Trot, why not get a beer. Even if you don’t like beer you could share it with a friend, family member or fellow runner. Remember, it is the season of giving.
