Giada De Laurentiis is set to host the newest Food Network baking competition series, Winner Cake All. Which talented bakers will walk away with the ultimate prize?

Hosted by Giada De Laurentiis, Winner Cake All is the new Food Network baking competition series. Premiering in January, this 13 episode, new series looks to push the baking boundaries. With a slew of celebrity clients, this baking competition seems to follow the ideal, go big or go home.

According to the Food Network, each episode features two challenges. The first challenge is a Decoration Challenge. In this particular challenge, the bakers must create a unique cake topper based on the client’s theme. If this idea sounds slightly familiar, a similar idea was used in last summer’s Wedding Cake Championship. Unlike the other Food Network Show, one team will be eliminated after the first challenge.

Cake toppers can really show a baker’s creativity. Sometimes the obvious choice for a theme doesn’t always make the best cake topper. Color, proportion and ingenuity should serve these bakers well in the Decoration Challenge.

  • Also, because the bakers could get eliminated after the first challenge, the cake topper needs to be impressive. At the same time, the bakers must balance how far they are willing to push the envelope. While a totally unique approach could impress, it could also backfire.

For the second part of each episode, the remaining teams participate in the Cake Challenge. Each team must create a sculpted cake based on the client’s theme. It will be curious to see what type of requests the clients make of the bakers.

The celebrity clients vary throughout the season. From former NFL player Rashad Jennings to Guy Fieri, these clients are looking for some confectionary perfection. Hopefully, no one stumbles just before the finish line.

While the majority of the announcement focuses on the decorative aspect to this baking competition, the cake’s taste has to be delicious. Although people are impressed the cake’s visual, that look doesn’t satisfy a grumbling tummy. Taste is definitely a factor in deciding who wins the ultimate prize.

Winner Cake All with host Giada De Laurentiis premieres on the Food Network, Monday, January 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. For more information on the show and to see behind the scenes video, please visit the show’s page on Food Network’s website.
