Burger King’s King Box, $6 gets a king’s feast

Burger King’s King Box is the newest value meal at a fast food restaurant. Is the $6 king’s feast worth the money and the calories?

Burger King’s King Box has fast food fans ready to open their wallets. For just $6, guests will get a BK entrée, French fries, a soft drink and dessert. This new value offer is in addition to the BK Value Meal. But, will fast food fans want to try the new offering?

Looking at the price for this food combination, the value is rather good. Guests can choose from a “WHOPPER, a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich and 3- piece Chicken Tenders.” It would be nice to have another burger option. For some people, the WHOPPER might be a little too much food when combined with the other sides.

In addition to the main entrée, the King Box includes a “small order of fries, a small drink and two chocolate chip cookies.” Unfortunately, the announcement doesn’t specific if the guest can upgrade (at a cost) to a larger drink or fries. A medium drink would seem to be a better option for this value box.

Overall, the value box focuses on popular choices. It does appear that Burger King is trying to find ways to make its food more cost effective for its loyal customers. That push should keep fans loyal and could even bring in a few new guests looking to get a good value.

More and more fast food and fast casual restaurants are offering these types of value promotions. Finding ways to make meals more affordable appeals to consumers. No one wants to spend $30+ on a couple of burgers going through a drive-thru.

While the value might drive consumers, it would be nice to see some healthier options in this type of value promotion. A side salad, fruit or even a fruit smoothie would be a nice alternative to fries and cookies. Granted that swap could come with a higher cost, but consumers might like to have options.
