Get your spoon ready. Häagen-Dazs Spirits ice cream is here and they will have you skipping cocktail hour for dessert hour.

Are you ready for Häagen-Dazs Spirits ice cream? The iconic ice cream brand has expanded into the boozy dessert world. While these ice creams aren’t a shot of liquor mixed with ice cream, the flavors blend popular spirits flavors with decadent ice cream flavors. For both the dessert and cocktail lover, these new ice creams will definitely satisfy.

According to Häagen-Dazs Brand Manager, “The Spirits Collection was expertly crafted to offer new, extraordinary ways to indulge. Each flavor is perfect to pair with your favorite cocktail, elevate a boozy float or simply enjoy on its own.” Given this explanation, these desserts are different from other boozy treats. They aren’t meant to replace your cocktail, they are meant to pair with it.

In this new ice cream line, the brand offers the following flavors, Irish Cream Brownie, Rum Tres Leches, Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle, Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch, Bourbon Praline Pecan, Non-Dairy Amaretto Black Cherry Almond Toffee and Irish Cream Cookie Squares. While all of the flavors sound delicious, a few flavors really are impressive.

First, the Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch takes a popular bar combination, beer and pretzels, to a new level. Chocolate and stout are a delightful pairing. Many stouts are made with chocolate. By adding a texture and salt from the pretzel, this combination should be quite delicious. For an even more indulgent treat, turn this ice cream into a float with your favorite chocolate stout.

The Rum Tres Leches could possibly become the most popular flavor. The white rum flavored ice cream with chunks of Tres Leches cake sounds like an adult version of cake and ice cream. With hints of dulce de leche, the ice cream should have some sweetness, but not overdone. Each spoonful could transport you to a beautiful, tropical getaway.

Overall, all the flavors are worth trying. Since the alcohol content is similar to a non-alcoholic beer (“products contain less than 0.5% alcohol”), there isn’t a worry about “over imbibing” with these ice creams.

Offering this new Häagen-Dazs Spirits ice cream seems to coincide with many food trends. Beyond the boozy dessert notion, adults are wanting to indulge. Still, they want that indulgence to be worth the extra calories or time at the gym. The plain, boring flavors don’t tempt their taste buds.

The new Häagen-Dazs Spirits ice cream will be available on store shelves starting beginning in April 2019. Häagen-Dazs Shops will have selected flavors starting on March 1.
