A new version of on the rocks

For many people, the question on the rocks or frozen can be a tough one. Some people love a margarita that has been blended with ice. Sipping it slowly, through a straw is completely refreshing.

For other people, frozen can come with a brain freeze. They feel that the best way to enjoy a margarita is over a glass of ice.

Is one version right and another one wrong? Never, it is always personal preference. But, what if you could have a version of both?

In this particular margarita, the cocktail fan can have both frozen and on the rocks. By freezing the margarita mix into an ice cube, you get the benefit of those frozen flavor chunky yet don’t have to worry about the straw. (We aren’t supposed to use plastic straws anyhow).

Also, the use of candied ginger in this cocktail is delicious. The spice from the ginger is a lovely offset to the sweet and sour of the margarita mix.

"Ginger con Hielo Ingredients: • Tres Agaves Margarita Mix (to fill ice cube tray) • ¼ parts Triple Sec • Candied Ginger • 2 parts Tres Agaves Reposado Tequila For the ice cube, mix together Triple Sec and Margarita Mix. Pour into king ice-cube tray and place piece of candied ginger in liquid. Freeze overnight. For preparing the cocktail, pour two parts of Reposado tequila over large ice cube in rocks glass. Garnish with lime twist."
