Did you hear that Kentucky Fried Chicken and Waffles are returning? This tempting menu item is back, but you better hurry.

Kentucky Fried Chicken and Waffles were a huge hit when it hit restaurants nationwide. That combination of sweet and savory made fans’ mouths water. KFC listened to everyone’s grumbling stomachs and has decided to bring the tasty treat back. Are you ready?

Last year, KFC debuted a Chicken and Waffles menu option. While fans were warned that this tempting treat would be available for a limited time, the response was overwhelming. In just two weeks, the uber popular dish was sold out.

With such a huge response, KFC is bringing back this menu item starting March 23. It will available until April 29, or while supplies last. Given the previous success, fans better head to their local KFC quickly or the menu item might be gone.

The sweet and savory menu item is the quickest return of a limited edition menu item. According to Andrea Zahumensky, chief marketing officer, KFC U.S., KFC “underestimated how much love there would be, so we’re bring it back just four months later.”

Part of the reason this menu item was so successful is due to the waffles. KFC formulated specific waffles that paired perfectly with its iconic fried chicken. After one bite, most people were sold.

The reason why these waffles are the perfect pairing is the pearl sugar. This sugar creates the crisp, crunchy exterior on the waffle but doesn’t compromise the fluffy interior. The combination of textures makes every bite extremely satisfying.

The Chicken and Waffles is available both as a meal and a sandwich. Even if you order the sandwich, a fork and knife is a good idea. The Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup can make picking up the sandwich with your hands a little sticky.
