Buddy vs. Duff episode 3 preview: It’s a Dog’s Life

In Buddy vs. Duff episode 3, the two celebrated pastry chefs are going to the dogs. Will this Food Network episode be a walk in the park for one chef?

For Buddy vs. Duff episode 3, the competition is getting rather heated. After last week’s double win by Buddy, Duff is definitely feeling the pressure. While Duff wins on creativity and details, Buddy’s ginormous cakes and iconic flavors keep winning over the judges. Will there be a different outcome this week?

According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “It’s a Dog’s Life” features the following:

"Pastry chefs Buddy Valastro and Duff Goldman put their skills to the test making pies that are delicious and beautiful enough to wow the judges. Buddy pays homage to his Old-World roots, while Duff follows his unique artistic impulses. For the cake-off, they’re challenged to provide dog-themed cakes for Flip or Flop host Christina Anstead’s dog-pampering party. Dogs, cakes and egos compete for center stage as Buddy and Duff struggle to outdo themselves and each other."

For the preliminary bake-off, this challenge should be a great battle. Making a delicious pie requires a lot of skill. From the perfectly flaky crust to the luscious filling, a beautiful pie comes with years of experience.

The key to winning this challenge should be the pie crust. While Duff will probably go with a more elevated flavor combination, his pie crust needs to be on point. Even if the filling is delicious, the crust should determine the winner.

In the cake-off, Duff needs to bring it this week. After two weeks of going small and details, Duff has to go big. Even if he doesn’t win, the go big or go home attitude needs to be apparent.

Like previous episodes, Buddy will go huge. Each week, his cakes keep getting physically larger and larger. After last week’s double win, his confidence is high. Also, the preview clips show that his ego is growing.
