Buddy vs. Duff episode 4 has the theme that everyone has been anticipating. Wedding wars are here and both chefs are prepared for battle.
In Buddy vs. Duff episode 4, this week’s challenge is set to be one of the most memorable ones of the season. This week, the two esteemed chefs take on wedding cakes. Will the outcome be wedding bliss or will one chef be asking for an annulment?
According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “Wedding Wars” synopsis states:
"The competition grows even more intense as Duff Goldman brings Buddy Valastro into his world of fine dining with a challenge to create elegant plated desserts. Tensions are high as the chefs face unforeseen technical difficulties and the ticking clock. In the cake-off, Buddy, the king of wedding cakes, challenges Duff to create a cake for celebrity event planner Slomique Hawrylo’s bridal fitting event. As the chefs balance pleasing their customers and creating inspired works of art, they do whatever it takes to come out on top."
Looking at the synopsis, Duff definitely has an edge in the first challenge. Duff knows how to create a perfectly plated dessert. From creative flavor combinations to elegant plating, this challenge should be his to win.

So far this season, Duff has pushed the creativity level. From numerous ingredients to technical applications, he tries to push the envelope. For the first challenge, that attitude should serve him well.
In the cake-off, this challenge will come down to a matter a personal preference. Everyone expects for Buddy to deliver a huge, over the top wedding cake. It will be stunning, have multiple techniques and will be traditional. If you want a gorgeous, yet more traditional wedding cake, Buddy is the right choice.
Duff is going to be creative. He doesn’t want to create a traditional, tiered wedding cake. Based on the previews, Duff is going to be hanging his cakes from the ceiling. It almost looks like the idea that he did from his own wedding. Coincidence?
