Ready for MasterChef Junior Season 7 episode 5 preview? In this week’s episode, the young home cooks take on a sweet, English classic.

In MasterChef Junior Season 7 episode 5 preview, Gordon Ramsay gives these eager young cooks a Master Class in the scrumptious dessert, English trifle. While this team challenge might get a little messy, some young chefs excel in this layered dessert.

According to FOX, the episode “Something to Trifle With” will feature the following:

"The Top 16 home cooks face a sticky situation when they are divided into three teams and tasked with a Gordon masterclass – make as many stunning English trifles as possible in under 20 minutes. Only one team proves they have enough creativity and finesse to bypass the elimination round, the remaining home cooks are challenged to make three identical sliders in the all-new “Junior Edition: Something to Trifle With” episode."

The key to a wonderful English trifle is the layering. While each layer and flavor needs to work together, each one needs to be its own layer. While Gordon will definitely give the young cooks some tips and tricks, it could become a little messy. Then again, a lot of MasterChef junior episodes are a little messy.

Since the first challenge has a speed component, the young chefs can’t overlook the details. While everyone will want to have the most trifles completed, those desserts need to be correct. Throwing ingredients into a trifle bowl isn’t creating a good dessert.

For the second challenge, the task is even more difficult. While making sliders doesn’t seem like a super hard challenge, there is more to this task. The component of making three identical sliders could be extremely tricky.

To accurately complete this task, the young chefs will need to ensure that all three sliders are the exact same size. This goal definitely takes a deft hand and keen eye.

Additionally, the same idea applies to the toppings. If you put two pieces of lettuce on one slider the number needs to be the same on all sliders. Attention to all the little details will keep those young chefs in the competition.
