The challenge with can biscuits could quickly become a fan favorite. While some of the desserts in this season are quite elevated, this type of dessert sounds approachable. A semi-homemade dessert is always a good recipe to have on hand.

Additionally, the three flavors are quite approachable. While Nancy will love her bourbon desserts, it will be interesting to see which bakers pick sweet tea. That ingredient could be the most challenging.

Thinking about spring desserts, bourbon doesn’t seem like a traditional choice. Although bourbon and mint convey flavors of a mint julep, this liquor is often a warmer, more comforting flavor. It will be interesting to see how the bakers use it.

Overall, this season has seen very elevated desserts do well. There have been many French inspired desserts that have wowed the judges. While beautiful, these desserts aren’t something that a home baker would try to tackle.

Moving forward into this competition, these type of semi-homemade or approachable desserts need to be included in the competition. Sure, fans love to see the over the top, impeccable desserts. But, sometimes people like to be inspired by something that she can make at home, too.
