Chopt: New destination menu items head to sunny California

At Chopt, the salad isn’t a side dish, it is the whole meal. For its next group of destination menu items, the flavors head to sunny California.

As the weather warms, restaurant menus adapt. At Chopt, the fast casual salad focused brand is taking a road trip to a popular sunny locale. With a theme of Destination California, these new menu items are a feast for the eyes and the palate. Is your fork ready?

When thinking about California and even Californian cuisine, there is a focus on fresh foods where the flavor of the food itself shines. That idea fits well into Chopt’s vision.

Additionally, California cuisine offer blends flavors and cultures into a single dish. Whether is the classic taco truck or the San Francisco’s Asian community, the culture’s influence on food is huge. Still, the importance of fresh ingredients never waivers.

For the new Destination California menu, Chopt offers three items that cover the variety of California cuisine. Those menu items are: Baja Shrimp Wrap, Chinese Chicken Bowl and Spicy Sonoma Caesar Salad.

In a slightly different direction for the fast casual chain, the Baja Shrimp Wrap features classic Mexican flavors like chili, garlic and cumin. Rounding out the dish is a Spicy Baja Sauce, tamed by a little crema. To complete it all, a squeeze of lime juice to add the right acidic balance.

With a nod to San Francisco’s Chinatown, the Chinese Chicken Bowl features traditional ingredients. From the Szechuan peppercorns and Blistered Green Beans to the Sesame Ginger Dressing, one bite could transport you to the city on the bay.

Similar to the Baja Shrimp Wrap, this dish uses acid notes to find the right balance of flavor. With touches of fresh citrus juice, the savory notes of garlic and shallot shine. Each bite will have you going back for more.

Lastly, the Spicy Sonoma Caesar Salad features spicy pickled cherry peppers. These little treats are delightful contrast to the creamy avocado. Of course, the big selling point is the Sonoma Creamery’s Parmesan Quinoa Crisps. These crunchy little additions add some delightful texture to the salad.

All of the Destination California menu item are available now through late June.
