Spring Baking Championship Season 5 finale preview
Three bakers vie for the title in the Spring Baking Championship Season 5 finale. Will these mom-inspired treats impress the judges?
The Spring Baking Championship Season 5 finale is here. After seven weeks of challenges, three baker remain. With just two challenges left, which baker will rise to the top?
According to the Food Network, the finale episode, “Mother’s Day Party” synopsis states”
"The pressure mounts in the Spring Baking Championship finale as the three remaining bakers celebrate Mother’s Day. For cocktail hour, the competitors must make Mom two different baked items inspired by mai tais, mojitos or mimosas. Then they use flavors inspired by Mom’s favorite coffee drinks to create cakes featuring their Mother’s Day gifts, like an edible box filled with Mom’s favorite candy. One baker wins the title of Spring Baking Champion and takes home the $25,000 prize."
For the pre-heat challenge, this cocktail-inspired dessert could be quite difficult. Finding a way to highlight those cocktail flavors yet keep the desert balance take a keen hand.
Also, given the three cocktails, only the mint is the easy flavors. Mimosas might be fruit forward, but highlighting the sparkling wine is hard. Mai Tai is equally as challenging.
In the main heat, coffee flavored cakes might prove equally as challenging as the cocktail challenge. While coffee and chocolate might be a likely choice, these bakers need to think outside of the box. Hopefully, there isn’t a duplicate of a tiramisu cake, either.
Looking at the final three bakers, the Spring Baking Championship title could go to any of the three bakers. While Cory has the most diverse baking background, Saber has been a judges’ favorite. Karina has impressed as well.
It will come down to these two final bakes. A mistake could cost a baker the title and $25,000.
